Feeding Guide
Feeding guides are a starting point. Adjustments may need to be made according to activity, breed and even dependent on the weather as maintaining body temperature can influence energy requirements.
Puppies have a higher energy requirement than adult dogs, making it important to ensure that puppies are fed a suitable diet that has the correct number of calories to support their rapid growth. Puppies and pregnant bitches should be fed meals 3 to 4 times a day. Please consult your veterinarian if you have any questions or concerns about your puppy’s growth.

Changeover to new diet
As with introducing any diet, this is best done gradually to allow time for your dog’s gut to adjust. We recommend doing this over a 4-7-day period depending on your dog’s tolerance to dietary change.
Ensure clean drinking water is available to your dog at all times.

Body Condition Tool
Adjust feeding to meet a body condition score of 5.
Assessing whether your pet is the correct weight is not always dependent on what the scales say. Assessing body condition is a useful tool in determining a healthy weight for your dog.
Monitor your dog’s body condition score below. If it is 7 or above, reduce the amount you feed by ¼ cup/28g per day then reassess after 1-2 weeks. If it is 3 or below, increase the amount you feed by ¼ cup/28g per day then reassess. If in doubt, consult your vet.
